Social skills and competences

- Teamwork: I had worked in various types of teams from research teams to coordination of Donations of Humanitarian and Educational Equipment for children in poor Romanian areas (liaison between UK donor and local authorities, ensuring trust and cultural interface).

- Intercultural skills: During my studies in UK, I had excellent interactions with students from various countries, cultures and religions through assignments and presentations and leisure time.

- Support/encouragement: I taught the Business Plan module in a project (PHARE RO 2002) aimed to development of entrepreneurial skills in people form socially disadvantaged regions in Iaşi County. I provided encouragement and support to trainees, along with the project coordination team, to induce self-confidence during all stages of the business plan.

Organisational skills and competences

- Coaching/ mentoring: each year part of my undergraduate teaching in the University I coordinate about 50 small quality improvement projects, about 30 business plans and up to 10 students to which I supervise their dissertation. All requires guidance and most of them need encouragement and personal attention to develop their self-confidence, attention to detail and support in their self-directed data gathering and analysis process.

- Each year I organize a “Scientific research seminar for students” on quality management. I stimulate students in teams to compete in the seminar with their small research projects.

- In 2003, I was in charge of coordinating the “4^th International Conference on the Management of Technological Changes” in Chania Greece, which gathered over 100 participants.

Technical skills and competences

Qualitative and quantitative research methods: acquired during training in UK these are used and developed during extensive research work for Ph.D., research grants, research papers, etc.

Computer skills and competences

Competence with most of the Microsoft packages, especially Word, Excell and PowerPoint. I also use SPSS for research work.

Artistic skills and competences

Whilst not a professional dancer, I love to dance, even if it is very new to me (whilst in Edinburgh for a SMEs conference we were invited by the organizers to Scottish Dances in the City Hall)

Personal Interests

Enjoy all sports, particularly basketball, badminton and running. I enjoy mountaineering and love to travel and experience different cultures.
